Week 11: Faithfulness | Children@Apostles
This week’s fruit of the Spirit is faithfulness. This week we are learning about what this means for us. Remember you can get points by doing the activities and make sure to post them on Facebook or HA virtual cafe on WhatsApp. We have added some bonus questions to the Bible bit anyone who answers them and posts them on the comments on Facebook or HA virtual cafe will get a bonus point for each right answer. Remember that if you like any of the songs, we have included on any of our posts we can start to sing them when we meet together.
Read Acts 10:1-29 or watch the story here:
• Where did Cornelius Live?
• How do we know that Cornelius is a good man?
• Where did Peter go to pray?
• Where did Peter go to with the man?
3 Things to think about:
• How can you be faithful to someone?
• Why is it important to be faithful to other people?
• Why is it important to be faithful to God?
Here is a song that Lucy likes:
Our song for this term:
1) Friendship bracelet
Using three or four pieces of different coloured wool or thread, plait a friendship bracelet (if you have some small beads add them to the plait as you go). Test the length around your wrist, when the plait is the right length tie a knot and cut the wool/thread. Make another bracelet just the same for yourself. Post the bracelet to your friend to let them know you are thinking of them.
2) Faithful Acrostic Poem
What you need: paper, pencils, felt pens.
What to do: On a piece of paper write the word FAITHFUL in capital letters down the side. Next to the “F” write, "Father God, help me to be faithful." By each other letter think of a sentence beginning with that letter, which is something you need help to be faithful with. Next to the last “L” to finish write: "Let me be a faithful person."
You now have an acrostic poem; you can decorate around the edge of the poem.
3) Rainbow Cookies
Make these cookies to remind you of how faithful God is to us.
See the recipe here: https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/rainbow-cookies
Say this prayer with your family today:
Heavenly Father, forgive us when we have not been faithful. Please forgive us when we have doubted your faithfulness. Give us power through your Holy Spirit to be faithful to You by praying every day and reading the Bible,
which is our road map to heaven. Help us to remember that You are always faithful. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Don’t forget to keep saying the Lord’s Prayer at noon.
