Easter Sunday 2020 | Children@Apostles

Today is Easter Day, when we celebrate the fact that Jesus who died came back to life. I don’t know about you but I’m really looking forward to getting my Easter eggs. We are having an Easter Egg hunt in our garden today. Before that though we will worship God together as a family on this special day. Enjoy your Easter Eggs but don’t forget the real meaning of Easter. We have special Easter activities for you to do this week below-Enjoy!

Bible Bit
Today is the day we remember Jesus dying on the cross you can read about it in your bible John 20:1-18.
Or you can watch the story here:

Here’s a song which is a real Children@Apostles favourite – Enjoy!

Here’s a traditional Easter hymn that millions of people sing on Easter Sunday every year:

Activities
1. Easter new life butterflies
You will need:
-paper,
paint, brushes, water

Fold the paper in half and open it up again. On one half of the paper, put blobs of colour, roughly in the shape of half a butterfly, but you don’t need to be too exact. While the paint is still wet, fold the paper again and press the two halves together firmly, then open up and see if it looks anything like a butterfly!
No doubt it will be beautiful anyway. Talk about the way it looks as if a caterpillar is dead when it turns itself into a chrysalis, but it comes to life again in a new and beautiful way.
Jesus’ body was wrapped up like a chrysalis and he came back to life in a wonderful new way.
2. Make an Easter finger puzzle free download here

3. Make a jammy dodger empty tomb

Prayer Time
Say this prayer with your family today:

Heavenly Father, thank You for this glorious day we call Easter, where we celebrate the resurrection of your Son, Jesus! Let us rejoice in You and not forget why we’re gathering on this Sunday. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!

Don’t forget to keep saying the Lord’s Prayer at noon.

Have fun over Easter, children! x
